Retraction, Aliens, Floors, and Adal

I'm 18 weeks this week, and my circumference is now 50.5 inches. 4.5 months. 5 more months to go. Can't wait! I have a big appointment next Monday, which I will tell you all about when it rolls around.

I have to retract the baby wipes warmer comment, since several people seem to have used them and found them useful. Sorry to all the baby wipe warmers of the world!

Before you ask, no, I haven't felt the baby move yet. It's still normal for me not to feel it yet. So I'm not worrying yet. I have found that the pre-natal vitamin actually makes me more regular! Isn't that weird? I skipped a few days because I forgot, and was a little constipated. Then I made the effort to remember and it helped. For me, this is just one big exciting experiment. There are so many variables to consider...

I have floors! They finally finished my floors and they look beautiful. Let's see how long they last that nice... Today is the day they are supposed to put my stuff in Greece on a boat to send across the Atlantic. I received my new bed yesterday and it looks gorgeous. Very very large, but beautiful. I've been reading a pretty good book a friend (Mary Ann) lent me, and it's actually one of the better ones I've read. Not because of it's scientific content, but for it's humor and honesty. I'm recommending the Girlfriend's Guide. When my next friend gets pregnant (not counting all of you ALREADY pregnant out there) I'm passing it on like an heirloom.

How do I feel? Well, surprisingly normal for all the injections and pinchings I have to go through. I know I owe everybody more photos of me with a budding belly, but I never seem to take photos when I'm nicely made up in my preggie clothes. So this weekend definitely, I'll take some photos Ok?

Everybody asks me how Adal is doing. He is doing well. He is waiting to start teaching at George Washington University, which doesn't start until September, so he's getting a little antsy at home. We're waiting for our other car to arrive from Greece, so he's doing stuff at home. He's happy with the pregnancy and goes to all the appointments with me to make sure I do what the doctor tells me. We have not decided on a name. His taste is very different than mine, and I don't know HOW we're going to agree.

I made the mistake of watching Alien vs Predator last night. Not a good image to fall asleep with: an animal grows inside you and then bursts out of your abdomen breaking your rib cage in the process.
